Spaceflight music slows down if no controller is connected.

Use patched PRCD.exe Download the Wing Commander: Privateer spaceflight music speed fix. Extract into the Privateer installation folder, replacing the existing file when prompted.

Use patched PRCD.exe (GOG.com OS X)[citation needed] Download the Wing Commander: Privateer spaceflight music speed fix. Go to Applications. Right-click the Wing Commander Privateer app and choose Show Package Contents. Go to Contents. Go to Resources. Right-click Wing Commander Privateer.boxer and choose Show Package Contents. Go to C.harddisk. Extract the updated PRCD.EXE here and choose Replace when prompted.

Set DOSBox joysticktype (alternate method)[citation needed] Edit the DOSBox configuration file. Change joysticktype=auto to joysticktype=2axis Save your changes. Choose your control mode in-game (it defaults to Joystick). Music will play normally. If you decide to use a controller later, edit the file again and adjust this setting as needed.
