Game crashes with error "assert – glGenBuffers_ptr != 0" (Windows)

This is caused by outdated OpenGL drivers, to play the game update your graphics card drivers.
If the drivers are up-to-date, your hardware may be too old to support the game.

Game shows up stretched across the screens in a multi-monitor setup and is unplayble (Linux)

  1. Run the game with "SDL_VIDEO_FULLSCREEN_DISPLAY=0 wakingmars"
It may be necessary to change the resolution in the config. Set autodetectres to false and resolution_x and resolution_y so that they match your primary screen.
