Issues fixed[edit]

Crashing on Windows 8/Exception in virtualfilesystem.cpp[edit]

This crash is caused by map cache data from an old version downloading with the game on Steam.

Fix Fix crash on Windows 8

  1. Go to the installation folder.
  2. Go into the map folder and delete the cache folder.
  3. Go to %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Victoria 2\map
  4. Delete the cache folder, if it exists.
  5. Start Victoria II again and let it regenerate the map cache.
