The intro video is automatically skipped once start.dat is generated.

The version 1.18F patch fixes many crucial bugs and is required to finish the game.

Issues fixed[edit]

Black screen[edit]

Change Game Rasterizer in Options.ini[2]
  1. Go to the installation folder.
  2. Edit Options.ini.
  3. Change Game Rasterizer=3 to Game Rasterizer=2
  4. Change GameScreenWidth= and GameScreenHeight= to your resolution.
  5. Change GameScreenDepth=16 to GameScreenDepth=32
  6. Save your changes.

Error when launching setup tool[edit]

The setup tool may open with an error: "The device you have selected does not appear to support all the functions required for Ultima IX: Ascension."
Change Game Rasterizer in Options.ini[2]

FMV cutscenes are blank[edit]

Uninstall codec packs[3]

Uninstall any codec packs (e.g. K-Lite).
