Free-to-play Access to items is unlocked through ranking (per class).[3]
Subscription AAA Pass[4]

DLC and expansion packs

Name Notes
Infinite Pack Grants weapons for free when the required level is reached. Applies also retrospectively.[4]
Windows
The content of the DLCs can be applied to only one Uplay-account and can therefore not be used with other accounts, despite using the same Steam-account, which owns the respective DLCs.[5]

Microtransactions

Type Notes
Boost Timelimited booster: Affecting XP and RP.[3]
Cosmetic Avatars, headgear, different designs for weapons
Currency ATHENA Credits (previously RP) as normal currency (received for playing, challenges), GP as premium currency (only purchasable with realworld-money)
Infinite spend Grenades and Magnum Ammo (boost to damage) are consumables. Non-consumable items have durabilities.[3]
Loot box Crates/boxes are received through playing or buying.[3][6]
Player trading Items can be gifted to ingame-friends. No bilateral trading.
Time-limited Seasonal or items based on events. Applies also to some DLCs.[7]
Earlier access to higher ranked items (weapons, weapon-upgrades, armour), boost to damage and passive abilities were for purchase.[3]
Items could be tested prior to purchase.
Hosting a customised match required a token every time. Tokens needed to be purchased.[8]
Items are bound to a specific class and can not be used by the other two classes.

Video

Use GRP Settings Configurator to further adjust game graphics or edit GraphicSettings.ini manually.[9]

Graphics feature State Notes
Widescreen resolution
Multi-monitor
Unplayable due to menus being partially offscreen.[10]
Ultra-widescreen
Change the resolution in the \Game\PDC-Live\GraphicSettings.ini file.
4K Ultra HD
Field of view (FOV)
FOV can be hacked by turning the game to windowed mode, setting the horizontal resolution through the GraphicSettings.ini to something larger than the monitor resolution, and then using SRWE to change the horizontal resolution back to native, but this sometimes results in unresponsive menus.
Windowed
Borderless fullscreen windowed
Can use SRWE to remove the borders from windowed mode, but is not supported natively.
Anisotropic filtering (AF)
See the glossary page for potential workarounds.
Anti-aliasing (AA)
While there is an antialiasing option in the GraphicSettings.ini, it may not be effective. Aliasing is still present in much of the game.
Vertical sync (Vsync)
60 FPS
120+ FPS
Use windowed mode with in-game Vsync enabled to bypass 60 FPS cap.
High dynamic range display (HDR)
See the glossary page for potential alternatives.

Input

The game controls can be further adjusted by editing KeyMappingsPC.ini.

Issues unresolved

Launcher continuous to run in the background

The game's launcher may continue to run in the background after the launcher window has been closed.
The launcher can be closed from the Windows system tray (usually bottom right),[11] or by right-clicking the taskbar icon and selecting "Close Window" (Windows 7 or above).
This must be repeated every time the player quits the game.

Issues fixed

Installer crash

Launcher manual download[12]
  1. Make sure you have .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 installed
  2. Manually download the launcher from here
  3. Run it

Uninstallation problems

Even when using the "uninstall" option from the launcher, an error message saying the pdc-live files are in use is sometimes present. Deleting the files won't work, sending them to the recycling bin won't work either. The following is not a recommended solution: By renaming the folders "Pdc-live" and "patches" in the GRO folder to something else, uninstallation from the launcher somehow works. The folders that were renamed are removed and GRO no longer appears in "Programs and Features".

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 When running this game without elevated privileges (Run as administrator option), write operations against a location below %PROGRAMFILES%, %PROGRAMDATA%, or %WINDIR% might be redirected to %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore on Windows Vista and later (more details).
  2. File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/243870/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (243870) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
