A quirk I remember from playing the Grand Prix 1-3 was their frame rate meter acts as a sort of graphics quality slider. The lower the set framerate, the higher-polygon and higher-resolution textures are used. Do note that the first two games ran on DOS without support for 3D accelerators, and the third game offers a software renderer - which is what I had to use since dgVoodoo2 didn't exist at the time. As I no longer possess any games in the Grand Prix series, I can't test this for 3D acceleration nor can I confirm it works as I remember the software renderer doing on Grand Prix 3.
