This looks pretty thorough. Does someone want to message the author and get his permission to reproduce it here?

Summary by Mrpenguinb

The DX10 renderer tends to black out in fullscreen, running the game in windowed mode is recommended, or enabling prefetch in the renderer settings.

Using the updated DX 9 community renderer is highly recommended. The now non-existent DX 11 renderer has optimisation issues with fog (certain areas) but works fine otherwise.

When running the DX 10 renderer in fullscreen, if you minimise to desktop the game's viewport goes black, everything except the UI (at least on the machines I've tried).

EDIT: AlphaToCopy seems to be disabled by default, if enabled the issue goes away. Should be listed on the PCGW page.

Version 2.4.8 (beta) fixes some crashes, but introduces music transition bugs. Should be linked instead of 2.4.7.

So.. I don't know what's happening this night but I feel overcharged.
Anyway it seems this game is using "Galaxy audio system", whatever that means.

I'm posting here just for the records and considering we may list middlewares in the games infobox one day

Galaxy 3D Audio was the original audio driver used in the Unreal engine. Galaxy 3D Audio basically just uses DirectSound, which is why if you want EAX in older Unreal engine games, you need to use ALchemy, 3D SoundBack, etc..

I see that now, the DNF2001 leak also uses this AFAIU.

Should I include instructions in running the game in the SGL API for older PowerVR hardware? (PCX2, Neon250)

There is a SGLDrv.dll included with the game, but it is commented out in the .int file. By installing KernelEx 4.5.1 in Windows 98/ME it will start to function, but it'll crash when you open the Load / Save Game screens.

Many other UnrealEngine 1.5 games will also work the same way, if they left a SGLdrv.dll behind.

Sure. I don't see why not. That's pretty much an "undocumented feature" defined.
