[edit] Progression not saved

Level selection.

In some cases, Shank 2 on Windows will not save the player's progress. There is an easy way to remedy this.

Fix Shank 2 game save workaroundLink

Notes

InformationThe source for this workaround can be viewed here. [2]
Information You will need a pre-existing Shank 2 savegame.sav file in order to proceed. You can find one here. This is not a blank file. However, you will be able to clear its contents should you wish to start a fresh game.

  1. Create a new folder in your Shank 2 folder, name it users. If this:
    c:\games\shank2
is the path to your Shank 2 install folder, then the path to the users folder should be:
    c:\games\shank2\users
  2. Extract the savegame.sav file in the users folder.
  3. Start the game. To make sure that the game sees an actual save file, select Campaign Mode from the main menu. After choosing a difficulty mode, you should see the level selection screen.
  4. To erase the contents of the save file: select Help & Options in the main menu, then select Clear Save Data.
