Warnings

The macOS (OS X) version of this game does not work on macOS Catalina (version 10.15) or later due to the removal of support for 32-bit-only apps.

RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic is a PC port of the mobile version of RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic, which in turn was a port of content from RollerCoaster Tycoon (1999) and RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 (2002). The PC version includes the RCT2 expansions and toolkit that are otherwise available as separate purchases on Android and iOS versions of the game.

The original mobile versions were released on December 21, 2016. The PC port followed on September 28, 2017. Compared to the original RCT2, RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic implements boosters, additional zoom levels, a magnifying glass feature from the 2003 Xbox release of RCT1, and a Tycoon Park scenario that is unlocked after finishing all other scenarios. The booster and zooming levels were afterwards also implemented into OpenRCT2. The PC port was generally well received, but was criticized for its price, which on all digital stores is higher than that of RCT Deluxe and RCT2 Triple Thrill Pack combined, regardless of whether or not they are on sale (and they always are simultaneously).

Versions 0.4.2 and newer of OpenRCT2 allow it to use RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic instead of RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 as its asset source, negating the need to play RCT Classic on its own.
