Kentucky Route Zero is a singleplayer, point-and-click five act adventure game featuring a never-seen mystery for a player to solve. It was made and published by Cardboard Computer.

Kentucky Route Zero was first revealed in 2011 and crowdfunded via Kickstarter. The release of the first act was made in January 2013 and the last 5th act was released in January 2020.[4]

The final act's update included audio captions, adjustable text scale, Steam achievements and localizations for French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian, Korean and Japanese.

In August 2023, over three years after the final act's update, the game was updated with a UI overhaul, multiple control improvements, several new translations, an updated Japanese translation, and Steam Cloud support.[5] This update coincided with the game's release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

On Steam, there are two launch options: the default and "Play with OpenGL (black screen fix)". However, both launch options now force OpenGL by default,[6] possibly as an oversight.
