Gex: Enter the Gecko is a singleplayer third-person platform game in the Gex series.

The US version has built-in Direct3D support; an unofficial patch brings this feature to the European version.

On modern systems, the game may need a manual installation procedure.

Manual installation

Copy the gex2 folder to a new directory on the local drive, which will now be <path-to-game>.
Create a text file with the following content:

3. Change InstallDir and CDDriveName, then rename file extension to .reg and execute it.
4. Run gex3d.exe as an administrator. 5. Apply the unofficial Direct3D patch.

Unofficial Direct3D patch

The unofficial 3DFX to Direct 3D Patch (PAL) for Nvidia/ATI cards (Windows XP) brings Direct3D rendering support to non-US releases. On Windows 10 and newer, these config files are necessary to run.
