Widescreen resolution[edit]

Patch 1.52 is needed for both solutions.
Replace exe file with modified one[2]
  1. Download modified exe files from WSGF and extract them.
  2. Copy Matrix.exe from a folder named after your resolution value.
  3. Paste it into the folder of a game overwriting the original file.
Use uniws[2]
  1. Download uniws from WSGF and extract it.
  2. Launch uniws.exe.
  3. Go to <path-to-game> or use "Find it for me" function.
  4. Enter desired resolution and click Patch.

Notes

If resolution options and a Patch button won't be a available after selecting a folder, where the game is installed, you probably have a version of exe file that doesn't work with a program.[3]

Windowed[edit]

Edit config file[citation needed]
  1. Go to <path-to-game>.
  2. Open MatrixConfig.ini.
  3. Change FULLSCREEN=1 to FULLSCREEN=0.
  4. Save changes.
  5. Launch the game using Matrix.exe.

Notes

Starting a game with a launcher will revert the changes.
An invisible mouse cursor may sometimes trigger some elements of desktop, but it shouldn't activate any programs.

Changing language[edit]

Language option is only given when first starting the game. Changing language requires complete deletion of save data.

Issues unresolved[edit]

Extremely low performance[edit]

  • On many configurations the game performs badly. One way to improve the performance a bit is to enable Force Object LOD in game's launcher - this however comes at the cost of poor model quality.
