Fix If you are on a laptop, make sure your power settings are allowing your computer to run at max settings[1]

Fix Update your graphics drivers, audio drivers, chipset drivers and DirectX

Fix Change process priority for the game to "high" in the task manager

Fix Run the game in compatibility mode

Fix Run the game with administrator privileges

Fix Run the executable directly from the installation folder instead of from the Steam client

Fix Run the game in windowed mode and re-size the game to be small

Fix If you're on Windows, make sure you update your DirectX 9.0c (not just Dx10/11!) You can do that with this download
