Issues fixed

Play in 16-bit color depth

Learning AI system only works properly in 16-bit color depth mode.
Display Changer and QRes can be used to automatically switch the color depth mode of the system.
Windows 7: use Display Changer[3]
  1. Download Display Changer.
  2. Copy dc64cmd.exe (64-bit) or dccmd.exe (32-bit) to <path-to-game>.
  3. Run Notepad and type the following commands:
dccmd.exe -depth=16
"path-to-game\vf2.exe"
dccmd.exe -depth=32
  • These commands are for the 32-bit version.
  • For the 64-bit version, just replace the executable name.
  1. Save to <path-to-game> as VF2.bat.
  2. Run the game directly from the BAT file.
Windows XP and earlier: use QRes
  1. Download QRes.
  2. Copy QRes.exe to <path-to-game>.
  3. Run Notepad and type the following commands:
QRes.exe /c:16
"path-to-game\vf2.exe"
QRes.exe /c:32
  1. Save to <path-to-game> as VF2.bat.
  2. Run the game directly from the BAT file.
