Issues fixed

Crash on launch (Steam)

Some Steam users have reported issues with the game (especially the DirectX 10 executable)[7] such as black screening on launch, forcing them to end the process using Task Manager.[8]
Disable Steam Community in-game[8]
  1. Right-click on the H.A.W.X icon in the Steam library.
  2. Select "Properties" and uncheck "Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game".
  3. Close the window and launch the game.
Force Windowed mode[citation needed]
A secondary cause is the game launching at an incorrect/unusable resolution.
  1. Go to %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X\Profiles
  2. Open _settings_0.1.525.ini in a text editor.
  3. In the [Video] section, set windowd = true.
  4. Save the file.

Consistent freezing

Game freezes every minute or so for upwards of 20 seconds.
Disconnect from the Internet[9]
Disconnecting the computer from the Internet whilst in singleplayer appears to resolve this issue.
