Changed the appearance of the Main Page to make it more readable and appealing. Only problem is that the "Welcome to PCGamingWiki" appears twice. If the admin could remove the first title, that would be great. --Desideratus Bellum 22:57, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
IRC Channel[edit]
I went ahead and registered an irc channel on espernet. Connection details are on the front page. If you don't want it just say it, I'll remove it then. Lett1 22:23, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
Is anyone interested in helping put together other OS guides? It should be quite helpful, especially with the upsurge for native ports and improved virtualisation/emulation. I think the best option is to segment the page into 4 main categories; Applicable to All, Windows Specific (at the top since its the largest group), Mac Specific and Linux Specific. I assume the actual config files and scripts would primarily be cross platform, but will have specific platform specific locations and configurations, so it may be bette rot place all at the bottom, for new users - since the entire point of this is to help people who don't know the ins and outs of the programs. It would be good to have a unified place for the all different methods for running games, Native, WINE, Virtualisation, emulation, etc. Maybe a table with compatibility for specific methods? Anyone have anything against it? -Alphasite 22:54, 10 February 2012 (BST)
Main Page organization[edit]
The Featured Article, etc. sections should be templates for easier editing. The source for the Homestar Runner Wiki main page should be a good example to follow. -Svetlana(talk) 14:20, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
Page Suggestions[edit]
Since I'm terrible at wiki editing, but had an idea for some pages, I figured I'd stick it here. Feel free to add. I think we could use pages for tools, specifically but not limited to DOSBox, since some tools can require quite a bit of configuration.
Agreed. Tools like this do enable people to play those older games better. Newmansan 10:40, 22 February 2012 (EST)
Forum[edit]
Right now this website is a collection of general trouble shooting resolutions for the most common issues. I don't think that meets with the creator's original vision of being able to solve hard to resolve gaming issues, no matter how obscure they are. Therefore, I think we also need a forum (such as phpbb or something) for users to -ask- questions, so they can come here for help despite whether or not we have the answer immediately on file. That'll also help us get a collection of the harder to find issues. -DarkFoxTokoyami 10:40 24 February, 2012 (UTC)
- I Agree, I'm looking into what Mediawiki uses as their support forums, it integrates into the wiki, so we keep the overall style and keep the same user accounts :) --JRWR
-- Just a thought, but you might want to keep the main Mediawiki and the forums separate, including user accounts. That way you're not giving -everyone- who registers for the forums the ability to deface the wiki. Just voicing my side of paranoia, but it may help prevent issues with people trying to trash the site. -DarkFoxTokoyami 16:23 1 March, 2012 (UTC)

Good websites that already cater to certain parts of the puzzle, please list any. --Ndavidow2 19:53, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
