Which version of the game are you playing? All DLC is already included in the Steam and Origin download now. The DVD version still requires updates (patch 1.01) and DLC (basically patch 1.02) to be manually installed, but looks like all official links are down.
Can anyone else confirm? It seems like it only uses Origin to verify ownership now.

Personally I'd start from checking 5 machine activation limit.
Players who bought the Limited Edition but don't have a save that includes the Limited Edition content can no longer get the content, because EA disabled the unlock (entitlement) messages that the server used to send to enable the Limited Edition content. While EA and Origin stopped selling the Limited Edition, the EA DVD Limited Edition version can still be bought from online retailers, but the Limited Edition content will not be unlocked. There are player made modified files as a workaround to enable the Limited Edition content, as well as the promotional stuff like the Dr Pepper Camaro.
