I mean enabling gpu up-scaling it's not a solution in my opinion (see Highest resolution not showing). Otherwise we could say that every game supports widescreen and 4k resolutions, just because the image can be stretched to fit

Another thing which turn up my nose is the Zombies Leaderboard/Campaign Career Record crash.. Deleting friends or spamming people with friend request to reach 100.. is just awful
Setting Steam offline may be already somewhat more acceptable, still I'm not really sure this could be considered fixed

The GPU scaling references indicate that this workaround actually makes the missing resolutions reappear in the in-game list. The other things you mentioned do seem like they need some work.

Agreed that both options are non-ideal fixes. However it's nearly 2 years past release now and Treyarch will never properly fix the issue. Arguably Steam Offline mode is a worse fix because it means you can't play online with friends. Deleting or adding friends DOES work even though it's a sucky fix.

Anyway.. I was wondering if a modded steam_api.dll (I think it should be the liable dll) may help solving the problem.
Considering it's one of the most studied libraries on forums like cs.rin.ru (even if for different purposes...) it shouldn't be impossible to.. for instance passing the game just the first/last 50 friends in the steam list.

This is one hell of a necro, but... I don't think changing your operating system is a FIX. That's changing the problem. Takes a lot of space in the page too, should we delete it?

I also stumbled into that pesky 60-to-100 friends bug and my suggested (and added) fix is to block the .exe in Win's Firewall. Easy, painless, but no Leaderboards or Career Records. IMO it's a much better option than using Steam offline or worse, add/delete friends. Permission to nuke from orbit?
