I've had the problem of this game either running incredibly slowly, or with a ton of visual glitches, and I couldn't find a way to change this. Now I've tried to use DXVK which makes the game run flawlessly. Problem is that it hooks into the game via d3d9.dll, which is used by the widescreen mods, so I can't use both mods at the same time. Is there any solution to this? Would be really cool if there was some way to chain dlls.

The widescreen patch for the steam edition crops the black bars from the top and bottom of the image and stretches the image to provide the correct aspect ratio (due to cropping the top and bottom you will be playing at a slightly lower resolution). There is another way to remove the bars without cropping by changing a setting in the beyond good and evil registry files:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ubisoft\Beyond Good & Evil\SettingsApplication.INI\Basic video] "NoBands"=dword:00000001

This will remove the black bars and creates a larger vertical fov displaying far more on the screen - however the aspect ratio will still be wrong (I think its locked at 5:4 and can only be corrected by stretching or cropping the image like the above patch) I'm not sure how the other patches work for the gog or ubisoft version as I don't own them.
