I think to the anti-aliasing section you should add that MSAA can be forced through the config file as many steam users report, the only downgrade being that your stuck on DX11 Mode

Jigen123 (talkcontribs)

Forcing MSAA does not work. Also, Arkham Knight is a DX11 only game anyway.

Possible FOV fixes/workarounds - need verification of some kind

Depth of Field et al.

Apparently it turns there are various game mechanics tied to Depth of Field than should be causing further instability as well as various things going invisible if you disable it such as (some?) enemies (entirely), evidence on bodies, the hologram from Batman's watch, and the counter icons during combat.

The developer/publisher specifically, rather vehemently I might add, recommends against modifying the frame rate cap and editing .ini files (in the updated sysreqs they also the 30 cap is intentional, but some users do report slightly (emphasis on slightly) better performance --_--). Maybe that should be noted?

Other notes include that the "recommended specs" are for "console equality", and that the NVidia GameWorks settings DO add some nice lightning and smoke effects - not sure if those are on console too in some form though, I'm basically just an observer in this situation.

Sidenote: this article could really use some more setting screen screenshots. Also, if the mouse smoothing thing is a key point in origins maybe it should be here too for consistency? Whatever...

Suicide machine (talkcontribs)

I read, that changing framerate cap affects batmobile mechanics. So.... wtf :D

Blackbird (talkcontribs)

It's MaxFPS for me not Max_FPS and changing it does nothingĀ :(
EDIT: In-Game Vsync locks to 30 FPS which means to use this with Vsync you have to force it externally.

Blackbird (talkcontribs)

Not for me. I am the point where I play as Batman and it's locked at 30 FPS unless I turn off Vsync. Updating to latest drivers now.
Also that variable name still stands.
Hmm could it be because I don't get stable 60 FPS? So if it drops below that it jumps to some pre-determined 30 FPS lock? I swear some game did that. AC4?

PrimusAuLoon (talkcontribs)

Yeah I'm much further than where these screenies were taken, just happened to have them on hand, odd about the Vsync, maybe there's some issue with last buffer. It looks like different buffers are reporting different framerates, really odd.

Blackbird (talkcontribs)

Updated to latest drivers (Arkham Knight ready) and it's fixed. No idea why really.
