The Windows version of Street Fighter Alpha: Warriors' Dreams (known also by its Japanese title Street Fighter Zero) is a variant of the 1995 arcade game of the same name. For the first time in the series, the port was handled by Capcom themselves.

The game itself is 32-bit, but its installer is 16-bit. It needs to be replaced with this executable to properly install on modern systems. Otherwise, the game does not appear to suffer from any compatibility issues as of September 2023.

Perform a full installation and edit registry files[1]
  1. Perform a complete installation, with all files from the disc copied to the hard drive.
  2. In the Registry Editor, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\CAPCOM\STREETFIGHTERZERO.
  3. Change the (Default) string value to point to the bin subfolder in the game directory instead of the disc.

Indeo codec missing

Upon playing a cutscene, an error message is displayed reading Video not available. Cannot find 'vids:IV50' decompressor instead of the video output, but with audio playing regardless.
