Key points
- The PC version adds improved lighting and the ability to save at any time during the game
- FPS fluctuates between 30 FPS and 60 FPS. There are no known solutions to this.

Silent Hill 3 is usually considered the best PC port out of the Silent Hill PlayStation 2 releases.
- Low resolution Depth of Field effect. Also, no options to crank it up or turn it off.
- If using anti aliasing (MSAA, at least), Depth of Field effect becomes corrupted (halos around objects).
- Rendering resolution (usually found under Inventory > Options > Configuration) is actually internal framebuffer resolution. Use it to match your display resolution.
- By default, the game creates savegames in its own folder. This can cause issues for users with non-elevated privileges. The workaround is to change the default save location by modifying the registry.
