Wiwi's UI mods

These mods increase playability by adding and relocating crucial information on your screen. Note: Beware FPS drops.

No Smoking!

This mod increases performance for lower-end PCs by disabling smoke and particle effects.

Mindwarp bug fix

Fixes the infamous mindwarp bug which turns your screen into a random colour disrupting gameplay. However, the fix is a little unstable.

Installation

Of mods

  • Windows: Extract the archive in <path-to-game>\game\
    • Steam: Extract the archive in %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Savage 2 - A Tortured Soul\game\ then extract every resourcesXX.s2z in the same folder, just like a normal zip file.
  • Linux: Extract the archive in /home/USERNAME/Savage 2/game/
  • Mac: Press Finder. Press Applications. Right click 'Savage 2 - A tortured soul', and press Show containing files. Open installation folder. Extract archive here.

Of game

  • Windows: Download the installer from the website and install the game
  • Mac: Download the Mac installer from the website and drag it to your applications folder
  • Linux:
  1. Download the .bin file from the website and place it in your home folder
  2. Open the terminal and type:
  3. cd /home/`whoami`/
  4. chmod +x Savage2Install-2*
  5. ./Savage2Install-2*
  6. Follow the instructions

Update failing with "error checking for updates"

Turn off your anti-virus and firewall, including Windows firewall.

Alt+Tabbing out on Windows causes you being unable to use skills

Simply press the "ALT" key once to fix this problem.

Updating properly

In order for Savage 2 to update properly on Mac, you will need to do this:

  • 1. Double-click the Savage2-2.1.0.0.dmg to mount it on the desktop.
  • 2. Open the appropriate folder where you should see a Savage 2 icon.
  • 3. Drag this icon to your Applications folder.
