Issues fixed

General Game Problems Fixes(Standard 2CD Retail Version)

It is possible to run this game with 3d hardware acceleration on modern systems.

Common Issues:

0. Updates

  1. Make sure both Windows and your GPU drivers are up to date
  2. Make sure you install Revenant 1.22 patch

1. Game resets the settings every time it starts

  1. Right click on the Revenant shortcut in the Start menu items
  2. Select Properties
  3. In the 'Target' field change Launcher.exe to Revenant.exe

Notes You need to start the game via launcher at least once to max out all the settings.

2. Game Crashes (on some machines) Common cause is the Fast Surface Locks options in the settings menu

  1. Run the game settings and check the 'Disable Fast Surface Locks' option

3. Game Speed/Framerate is very low or choppy

  1. Go to in game options and disable 'Limit Game Speed' option

Notes This has to be done every time you launch the game - this setting is reset after you exit the game.

4. Game Speed/Framerate is too high after point 3.

  1. Assuming you use NVIDIA gpu
  2. Install Nvidia Inspector program from Guru3D
  3. In Nvidia Inspector main window open 'Profile Settings' (toolbox icon next to the 'Driver Version' field)
  4. In top-left corner select 'Revenant' profile from 'Profiles' list
  5. In 'Sync and Refresh' set 'Frame Rate Limiter' to 30 (60 fps is way too high for this game)

5. Game screen is stretched horizontally on modern monitors Revenant uses fixed 640x480 4:3 ratio resolution which does not scale properly on 16:9 screens

  1. Assuming you use NVIDIA gpu
  2. Open Nvidia Control Panel
  3. Go to Display>Adjust display size and position window
  4. Set 'Select a scalling mode:' to 'Aspect Ratio'
  5. Set 'Perform Scaling on:' to GPU
  6. Apply changes

6. Game graphics look jagged This is due to low in game resolution. Can be alleviated a bit.

  1. Assuming you use NVIDIA gpu
  2. Install Nvidia Inspector program from Guru3D
  3. In Nvidia Inspector main window open 'Profile Settings' (toolbox icon next to the 'Driver Version' field)
  4. In 'Antialiasing' set 'Antialising' to 2x (the higher you go the smoother it gets)
  5. In 'Texture Filtering' set 'Anisotropic filtering setting' to 2x (the higher you go the smoother it gets)
