Key points

HD remaster of the Gamecube/Wii remake of Resident Evil.
60 FPS support, re-done lighting, upscaled and enhanced backgrounds and textures, an extra "very easy" difficult mode, BSAA outfits from Resident Evil 5 and movement controls switchable between "Classic" (Tank controls) or "Modern".
The game speed is bound to frame rate if the 30/60 fps lock is selected in the options menu, causing the game to run at slow speeds on systems that can't stay at the locked framerate. When the Variable framerate option is selected in the options menu the game speed is not bound to the frame rate.
Door-loading sequences are unskippable. Use Door Skip Mod to fix this.
4:3 mode is letterboxed on 4:3 screens . See Essential Fixes below to fix this.

Essential improvements

Door skip mod

This optional mod, but extremely useful mod for many, skips the repetitive door-loading sequences.

Fix Letterboxing on 4:3 Monitor while in 4:3 Mode

Navigate to your /AppData/Local/CAPCOM/Resident Evil - biohazard@HD REMASTER folder
Open the file config.ini
In the [DISPLAY] section add the line:

Aspect=4:3

This can also be used to solve additional horizontal (16:9) letterboxing that also appears in 4:3 mode while using a 5:4 or 16:10 monitor, just add the line with your monitors ratio instead

Aspect=5:4
or
Aspect=16:10

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/304240/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (304240) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
