Essential improvements

Needs an 8086 or 8088 CPU

This game needs an 8086 or 8088 CPU. It will not run properly on later model processors. If you run it on a later model CPU, the cockpit view out of the window will be completely garbled. This is because the game relies on a peculiarity of the 8086/8088 IDIV instruction, which got subtly changed in later model processors.

Use DOSBox-X[citation needed]

Unlike regular DOSBox, DOSBox-X supports the 8086 CPU type and works with this game.

Be sure to set "cputype=8086" in the config file.

Black and white only

This game supports CGA RGBI and CGA Composite. When run with CGA RGBI (or when using an EGA or VGA adapter), the output will be in black and white.

To get the game to output colour it is necessary to use the CGA Composite video output.

DOSBox[citation needed]

When using DOSBox, to get colour, set "machine=cga" in the config file. DOSBox will detect that the game is trying to use composite video and automatically switch to composite output emulation when using the CGA machine type.
