Issues unresolved
"The Rockstar update service is unavailable (code 1)" error on launch or hang when updating
- This issue is caused by an incompatibility with certain characters in Windows user names.
- A future update will patch this issue; in the meantime it can be worked around by making another Windows user account.
Memory leak
Players have reported a memory leak while playing Grand Theft Auto V.[6] A possible temporary fix is setting the virtual memory to be managed automatically by the operating system as instructed below.
"ERR_GEN_ZLIB_2 Failed zlib call. Please reboot or reinstall the game"
Rockstar has commented that the redownload of the game will fix this error.[7]
Possible workaround: http://www.reddit.com/r/GrandTheftAutoV/comments/32jif5/potential_fix_for_failed_to_load_zlib/
Benchmark appears broken
Random crashes
Game crashes and logs out of Rockstar Social Club when RMB is pressed in a vehicle during certain mission phases
Game will crash on certain missions if RMB is pressed in a vehicle. Known crashes:
- When assuming control of Franklin for the escape in the Jewelry Store heist
- When driving the 18-wheeler you loaded in the first mission of the Merryweather Heist
You will be kicked back to the Rockstar Social Club launcher and told that your account has been used to log in elsewhere.
Issues fixed
Computer unresponsive for a few seconds after alttabbing
Unable to Detect Windows Media Player Error
Launcher does not open (Grand Theft Auto V Launcher has stopped working)
- This can happen if you have a laptop with a switchable graphics feature - doesn't always resolve the issue, therefore not 'resolved'.
Launcher does not open (GTAVLauncher.exe just stops, no error messages)
- The game tries to open, Steam shows you as in-game for a few seconds, then nothing happens and Steam shows you not in-game anymore. Sometimes WSAFault.exe is seen as a branch of GTAVLauncher.exe in Task Manager when it crashes.
Game does not open ("Grand Theft Auto V has Stopped Working" generic Windows error)
- The game makes it past the launcher. However, when the main game loads it crashes instantaneously leaving you with a black screen, or the Windows error prompt.
