There are some window flags/styles that may -nevertheless- avoid this, but it's important to remember.

Already mentioned in the Engine:Unity page, but I think it could be useful to write here as well that most unity games (quite a popular engine) support borderless with a command line since people probably wont check the engine page for borderless information.
I'm not sure I agree with the thought process of de-cluttering by listing just one or two solutions.
By all means, list them in descending order of quality (by your measure), but I see no benefit in removing alternate choices. Sometimes your first choice won't work in someone else's environment. Sometimes other programs do things in slightly different ways that appeal to others. Sometimes, one program works on game x, but another won't. Sometimes, it's just nonsensical preference- but if it works, it works.
Who actually benefits from the removal of options? If your first choice doesn't work for someone, they can leave a bug report and hope it gets solved quickly. Then what? I value cataloging options, not a "list one and done" approach.
I initially restored my contribution because I did not see your comment as to why it was removed- I thought it might have been accidentally lost in some other edit. I would not have restored my edit had I seen that- I would have made this post first. Following your updated comments, it seems like you made at least some effort to try each program, but have revoked them from the list if they gave you an ounce of trouble. I can't speak for the other contributions, but I didn't add a nonfunctional program to the list. Window Manager admittedly has a few quirks, but I have been using it successfully since 2010...

I guess you could just make examples of these cases and personally I wouldn't be against including other ones.
It's not like I hate alternatives, but if you are a random noob, too many (99% of times redundant) options are going to scare you. Granted.

Said this, we were discussing about this the other day (and I should reply when I have time to think..)
I finally installed borderless-gaming to try it for myself. It's curious that there is a specific admin version- the user need only "run as admin" if desired (or check the "run as admin" box on the shortcut). Or there could be a UAC compliant option in settings to enable "always run as admin". Running this sort of utility as admin is a bad idea in the first place so I'm beyond confused. Well, the regular version works as it should (thank heavens for that too. I installed the admin version not realizing what it was and groaned at the thought of submitting yet another UAC compliance bug report to yet another dev that who actively rejects the UAC model).
But Borderless-Gaming is not the same as Window Manager. Borderless-Gaming lacks the following:
- multi monitor functions
- wildcards to match paths, which means you have finer grain control over which processes are affected and one config can sync across multiple computers
- interval scanning=less resource usage-Borderless-Gaming is eating 1% of my cpu at all times. Window Manager averages 0% even when "Active" by virtue of interval scanning. This is the deal breaker for me.
And the text in Borderless-Gaming doesn't scale properly on high dpi displays, Window Manager does :P
Does no one see those comments I added? Maybe I should just put up a cleanup tag next time and write "Read the comments in the editor" thingy.
Could Windowed Borderless Gaming cover Window Manager unique features?

If Window Manager is simply better even though it is no longer supported then sure whatever, it could probably be added back as a multi-monitor solution. The other utilities seems pretty pointless otherwise, most of them are incredibly outdated, or just plain bad.
Fwiw I worked with the developer on drastically decreasing Borderless Gaming's CPU footprint and the fixes have since been implemented, so that's no longer a concern of mine. The developer is cordial and open to suggestions, I'll suggest that he implement Window Manager's multi monitor features.
That would be cool, if the multi monitor features won't be added to Borderless Gaming then the Window Manager could always be added back.
Title. However some utilities may only be used on certain specific cases (Borderlands), I feel as if including them in the notes is slightly better.
I don't know, we need some way to keep track of which Y utility works with X game in order to get a better idea.
Unfortunately this is only when streaming, at least in its current form.
I have never, ever seen a game where borderless window caused instability. In most games it caused a significant improvement in stability, drastically reducing crashes. And no I am not referring to alt-tab related crashes (which are already explicitly mentioned as being reduced). But just random crashes while playing the game
