Key points

All DLC can be unlocked for free using a program. See essential improvements.
Unstable frame rate: Very hard to go above 30 FPS, even for players who achieved 60FPS on Final Fantasy XIII and independently of hardware used; Battles can drop to as low as 15 FPS.
Contains 720p assets (such as font and HUD), poorly encoded 720p Bink FMVs with minor artifacts, and no controller vibration support.
The translucency of rain is lower and it looks like white lines. The rain looks much worse than the console versions.
Broken surround sound: buzzing audio and wrong voice positioning.[1]

Essential improvements

DLC unlocker

Simply run the program (Steam achievements still work), check the DLC enabler and run the game. Unfortunately, this must be done every time or else the costume DLC will disappear and the characters will revert to default.

Accessories and weapons must be bought from Chocolina with the enabler on, and will remain in the inventory even when the DLC enabler isn't on.

Video settings

Launcher settings.
Adjust shadow resolution in the launcher or else they may appear pixelated and jagged.

Issues unresolved

Broken surround sound & buzzing sound

Audio only works well in either stereo (2 channels) or 6ch modes.
  • Set your sound card to use stereo (2 channels) or 6 channel modes[3]

Inconsistent frame rate

Many of the same tricks used on Final Fantasy XIII can be used for this game too.
