Essential improvements

Improve the readability of the in-game text

The stock fonts used by the game are narrow and difficult to read.
The Japanese font, however, has characters that are easier to read and resembles the font used in the PlayStation Portable remake of the Final Fantasy I & II, as well as Final Fantasy XIII.
As of January 30, 2024, the game has been updated to have the option of switching to the pixel font used in the console versions.
Instructions[1][2]
  1. Browse to the local files of your Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster installation.
  2. Navigate to <path-to-game>\Final Fantasy_Data\Streaming Assets to find the font files.
  3. Delete font_en.bundle and font_en.manifest.
  4. Rename the ja part in the font_ja.bundle and font_ja.manifest files with en.
  5. For non-English languages, repeat Step 4 for the other localizations (e.g. es: Spanish, fr: French, de: German).
