Video settings
- All menu screens, including the graphics and audio settings screens, are unique for all factions; however, they all have exactly the same wording, format, and settings, so the difference is merely superficial.
- Unlike its expansions, the setup utility and the in-game graphics settings for the base game, Earth 2150, has a hardware-accelerated sound section and lacks the ability to adjust the maximum zoom level, respectively.

Missing graphical features when not using Direct3D renderer
Certain graphical features, such as environmental fog and terrain shadows, cannot be enabled when using either the OpenGL or Glide renderers.
Software rendering
Earth 2150 and its expansions come with a hidden software renderer. Given, for all intents and purposes, any modern computer can play the game at maximum settings using either the Direct3D or OpenGL renderers without issue, the software renderer is merely a curiosity. However, those that would still like to utilize it should follow the instructions below.
