All versions require a Disney account.
All versions are free-to-play, with access to three trial characters (plus two unlockable trial character slots) that change each week.
A 3.0 starter pack is required to use the full version of the game, which includes the ability to purchase toys from the in-game Toy Store and to save more than one Toy Box. Redeeming starter packs of previous versions in the series or any individual figurines does not unlock the full game.
However, any figurines that were redeemed can still be fully used in the game even as a "free user", without losing access to trial characters.

DLC and expansion packs

This DLC list is based on the Steam release of the game. This list does not include sparks packs, Hex Disc packs or individual characters (the list of playable characters can be found on the series' Wikipedia article).
Characters are only available as digital DLC, but existing figurines contain a web code in order to unlock them. Codes are redeemed through the Disney Infinity website.
In-game purchases for Steam version will be removed on September 30, 2016 after franchise's cancellation. In-game purchases for Windows 10 version will be removed on January 3, 2017.[2]
