Issues unresolved

Devil May Cry 1 Crashing on AMD Phenom/Athlon CPUs

Several users are reporting that Devil May Cry 1 will not run on AMD Phenom processors due to a lack of SSE4.1 support.[3]
DMC 2 and DMC 3 SE do not appear to have this problem.
The AMD FX lineup is not affected.

Issues fixed

Game runs at incorrect speed on 75Hz, 144Hz, etc. monitors

  • DMC HD is designed around a 60 FPS lock. Certain monitors and driver settings bypass the FPS lock while running in Windowed mode, causing the game to run at a faster speed than expected.
CAPCOM has officially stated that a patch will be coming soon to address this issue.[4]
This bug increases the speed of the game, can potentially break certain sequences, and causes cutscenes to run twice as fast as the audio.
Temporary Workaround (Generic)
Reduce input lag (NVidia only)
  • (Optional, if tearing occurs) Play in borderless mode
  • Limit framerate to 60FPS using Nvidia Profile Inspector (set limit mode to Limit V2 Forced Off)
  • Force Vsync OFF using the inspector.
