FPS drop
- Game engine incorrectly everpooling the USB I/O in Windows causing significant frame rate drop.[1]
- This issue is visible mainly with gaming keyboards and mice like Logitech G series.
There are several ways to reduce this frame rate drop:
- Open Device Manager
(WIN+Pause -> Device Manager), expand Human Interface Devices
and disable all HID-Compliant Device
entries.
- Kill SetPoint.exe
and SetPointII.exe
processes from Task Manager.
- Open Task Manager, navigate to tab Services and stop hidserv
service.
- Reduce USB pooling rate at your mouse software
- Alt-tab to desktop for few seconds

Notes
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in
~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/4720/
in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (4720) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
