Field of view (FOV)

This game uses vertical FOV. See FOV Calculator for help.
Edit default_levels.xml[citation needed]
  1. Go to <path-to-game>\MD
  2. Open Data0.pak with 7-Zip or similar.
  3. In it go to Skills and extract a file default_levels.xml
  4. Go to %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Call of Juarez - The Cartel\out
  5. In this folder create a folder Data.
  6. In folder Data that you've just created, create another folder, named Skills.
  7. Now move default_levels.xml that you've extracted to %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Call of Juarez - The Cartel\out\Data\Skills
  8. Open default_levels.xml in Notepad.
  9. Change <prop n="CameraDefaultFOV" v="50.0"/> to the desired FOV value.

Notes

Changing FOV affects gun physics. Too high FOV will result in a gun kicking downwards.

  1. 1.0 1.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/33420/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (33420) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
