Although the game features an auto-update tool, sometimes it doesn't work or fail to resume download.

Mods
Although Frostbite is a relatively modding-unfriendly engine, a nascent modding community has formed and was able to extend the map border, create new in-game items and tweak weapons and vehicles. They have even released modding tools.

Hard crashing
- After an undetermined amount of playtime, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 may crash your entire computer (Screen freezes, hard drives stop and speakers will freeze on a sound.
- There is no guaranteed fix for this problem, however there are multiple possible fixes, listed below.
