On Linux, if your game settings reset to default or low preset after attempting to edit the hardware_settings_config.xml file with a GUI-based text editor, please reapply your desired settings from the game's settings menu, then try editing the xml file using your Linux distribution's console-based text editors like nano, vim, etc.
Make sure to take note of the default permission settings for hardware_settings_config.xml before making it read-only in Linux. Making the file read-only might also cause the game settings to reset to default. In that case, it's best to set the file permissions back to default.

Anisotropic filtering (AF)

Custom AF[5]
  1. Go to the configuration files location.
  2. Open hardwaresettings/hardware_settings_config.xml with a notepad.
  3. Search for <anisotropic_filter level="16" /> and change it to either "0", "4", "8" or "16".
  4. Save and set file to Read-only, failing to do so can overwrite the previous steps if settings are changed in-game.

Anti-aliasing (AA)

Custom AA[5]
  1. Go to the configuration files location.
  2. Open hardwaresettings/hardware_settings_config.xml with a notepad.
  3. Search for <antialiasing smaa="false" taa="true" checkerboard="false" /> and change the desired AA method from false to true.
  4. Save and set file to Read-only, failing to do so can overwrite the previous steps if settings are changed in-game.

Motion blur

Disable Motion Blur[5]
  1. Go to the configuration files location.
  2. Open hardwaresettings/hardware_settings_config.xml with a notepad.
  3. Search for motionBlur="true" and change it from true to false.
  4. Save and set file to Read-only, failing to do so can overwrite the previous steps if settings are changed in-game.

Depth of field

Disable Depth of Field[5]
  1. Go to the configuration files location.
  2. Open hardwaresettings/hardware_settings_config.xml with a notepad.
  3. Search for depthOfField="true" and change it from true to false.
  4. Save and set file to Read-only, failing to do so can overwrite the previous steps if settings are changed in-game.

Vibration & Feedback
The game can send telemetry data to supported software like SimHub and devices like motion platforms, bass shakers and telemetry displays through the UDP protocol. Also support D-Box haptic/motion platforms through a proprietary protocol.[6] Requires editing the hardware_settings_config.xml file to enable them. (See Enable telemetry)
