Use Kaldaien's Special K

Install Special K by following the Unofficial Guide to Special K. Manual installation may work better. Start the game once then close it to allow Special K to create a configuration file. Open <path-to-game>\d3d9.ini or %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Mods\SpecialK\Profiles\Ronde2.exe\SpecialK.ini, depending on the installation method. Change MuteInBackground=false to MuteInBackground=true found under [Window.System] and save the file. The game should now be muted when out of focus.
