Monetization

Type Notes
Free-to-play Game is free-to-play and microtransactions are offered in the in-game shop.

Microtransactions

Type Notes
Boost Experience Boosters and Credit Boosters are offered to boost the progress of each by 50%. Both have real time timers once they are obtained to be used.

Every Season, a new Smash Pass is released which gives cosmetic items, a Legend, Experience Boosters, and Credit Boosters. The Battle Pass can be purchased using Gems.
Cosmetic Skins, as well as other cosmetic items, are offered in the shop for Gems.
Currency Gems are only a real money purchase and are used to unlock Legends, cosmetic items, and the Smash Pass.

Credits are only earned in-game and are used to level various aspects of the Legends. Credits have a cap per day, only resetting when leveling your Smasher level or waiting an amount of real time for a reset.
Free-to-grind It is possible to unlock every Legend without spending real money by earning Credits after competing in games. However the purchase of the Smash Pass (depending on the Season) or Gems allows users to skip the grind.
Infinite spend Gems can be infinitely purchased with no limit.
Time-limited Certain skins and cosmetics in the Smash Pass or Shop are time-limited to obtain.
Unlock Various aspects of the game have to be unlocked or leveled with the currencies listed above.
